COMPUTER SCIENCE

Program Faculty: Dr. Rylan Chong, Dr. Mark Speck, Dr. Maria Brownlow, and Dr. Helen Turner

Mission Statement

Computer Science is the study of computers, in which computers in this modern time are all around us. Even, if we “unplugged,” there are computers running in the background of our communities, innovating or developing newer technologies, protecting us from or mitigating natural disasters, saving a life, securing nations, and to some extent, determining societies future and pathways. Because computers are integrated in our society, the design of the Computer Science curriculum will focus on developing computer scientists with a high degree of technical skills, a community-driven mindset, and are socially responsible that aligns with Chaminade’s mission and values, Catholic social teachings, and our Marianist education values.
