Environmental + Interior Design Minor

Overview

The E+ID Minor offers an introduction to interior design and the fundamentals of technical drawing, building systems, lighting design, and sustainability.

  • The program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis

  • Courses are offered onsite/online/hybrid depending on the instructor’s pedagogy 

  • All credits can be applied to the BFA or AA programs

The Interior Design Minor alone is not sufficient for graduates to be eligible for licensure without further professional education and experience.

Upon completion of the Environmental + Interior Design minor, students will be able to:

  1. Define and explain Environmental + Interior Design as an academic field thatintegrates methodologies from a variety of disciplines including humanities, arts,social sciences, data science, and design.

  2. Explain and synthesize complex issues and debates in Environmental + InteriorDesign such as information literacy, ethical technology use, permissions andcopyrights, digitization, preservation, sustainability, and audience.

  3. Articulate and demonstrate critical thinking in developing ethical responses to problems created by and/or inherent in digital technologies.

  4. Deploy and demonstrate skills in analyzing and creating written, oral, and visual texts in a number of digital formats.
