Nutrition (B.S.) Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition program will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the science behind food, health, and human well-being. Combining principles of biology, chemistry, and food systems, the program will equip students with the knowledge and skills to assess nutritional needs, promote healthy lifestyles, and address public health concerns. Coursework covers topics such as human metabolism, food science and community nutrition, preparing graduates for careers in healthcare, wellness, research, and food industries. Students will engage in laboratory work and community outreach programs. Graduates may pursue careers as nutritionists, dietitians (with additional degrees and credentialing), health educators, or food industry professionals, or continue their education in advanced healthcare or research fields such as dietetics, public health, nursing, healthcare administration, physical therapy, sports management. This program fosters a deep understanding of the role of nutrition in disease prevention and overall well-being, preparing students to make meaningful contributions to individuals and communities.
