Nursing Remediation Certificate


This certificate program is designed for an RN program graduate from any school or U.S. jurisdiction who has failed the NCLEX-RN examination at least three times and is now required by the Hawaii State Board of Nursing to successfully complete a remediation course to be eligible to retake the NCLEX-RN exam for RN licensure. This certificate program includes a minimum of 60 didactic hours (which may be virtual) and 60 clinical hours (which may be simulation).

Successful students will earn a certificate to support their RN license application to the Hawaii State Board of Nursing.

Upon completion of the certificate program in Nursing Remediation, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate appropriate developmental, cultural and spiritual care within diverse interdisciplinary teams of professionals.

  2. Demonstrate patient-centered care applying the five core institute of medicine (IOM) competencies in clinical settings: Provide patient centered care, work in interdisciplinary teams, employ evidence-based practice, apply quality improvement, and utilize informatics.

  3. Demonstrate clinical judgment in the delivery of safe, quality, patient care.
