Integrated Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy Psychology (B.S. + M.S.M.F.T.) Overview
The 4+2 Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy (MS-MFT) Pathway at Chaminade University of Honolulu offers an integrated program of study for undergraduate students seeking early admission into the MS-MFT program.
This pathway enables undergraduate students to begin taking selected graduate-level Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) courses during their junior and senior years while completing their bachelor's degree within the standard four-year timeframe. By initiating graduate coursework during undergraduate study, students may transition directly into the MS-MFT program and complete the master’s degree in less than the typical 2.5-year period.
Students admitted to the 4+2 Pathway are required to complete a minimum of two (2) designated MS-MFT graduate courses during their undergraduate studies and may complete up to four (4) courses, totaling 12 credits. Students from any undergraduate major at Chaminade University are eligible to apply. The program is particularly suited for students committed to pursuing a career as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
To maintain eligibility for automatic admission into the MS-MFT program, students must sustain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher, achieve a grade of B or better in all MS-MFT graduate courses taken during undergraduate enrollment, and meet all other standard MS-MFT admissions requirements.
