Indigenous Themes in Chuuk

This course has a variety of possible themes: (respect, perseverance, community service, collaboration, environmental stewardship, sanctity of farming/fishing, sanctity of place). Under each theme students will follow Chuukese methods of teaching and learning including oral discussion and interviewing elders. Reading and writing proficiencies are emphasized through reading assignments as well as discussion posts. At the end of the semester, students will produce a short research-based paper.
