Advanced Theories and Models in Marriage and Family Therapy
This course builds on the foundations of Family Systems theory and the classical theoretical models in PSY756 and will introduce advanced and contemporary therapy models within the Marriage and Family Therapy field. Students will develop an understanding of how to conceptualize couple and family relationships using the concepts of the advanced models, how to critically assess and cohesively synthesize family models, and how to utilize current evidence-based research to formulate a personal framework to work with couples and families. Prerequisite: PSY 756
