Foundational Literacy Instruction

This course explores the foundational components of literacy development, including oral
language, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Graduate
students will examine the science of reading and the cognitive processes involved in learning to
read. The course emphasizes research-based instructional strategies that support early literacy
development.
