Description

This course examines the settlement of Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia and their colonial experiences from first contact through today. This course focuses on the indigenous development of this diverse region as well as the cross-cultural experiences of colonialism and the challenges of navigating in the global community in a post-colonial world. Fulfills Education for Adaptation and Change and Global Awareness General Education requirements. Offered alternate years. Prerequisite: any 100 or 200 level history course.
