Description
The scope of this course will be an examination of learning differences, mood-related disorders,
neurodevelopmental disorders, neurocognitive disorders, conduct challenges, physical and health challenges,
visual and hearing challenges, child abuse/neglect/educational neglect, and substance use disorder within the
K–12 educational context. The specific focus will be on the role of the counselor interventions, the special
education referral and diagnostic process, and program evaluation.
