Overview
Description
This course develops the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to collect health history data and to perform a systematic physical examination. Developmental and transcultural considerations are addressed, along with the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention. The focus in this course is integration of the components of the nursing health assessment in the context of teaching and supporting lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages. Service Learning will be a required element of the course, in the form of a 10-hour service-learning activity and a written reflection about the experience. Prerequisites: BI152/L, NUR 200. Corequisite(s) for transfer student: NUR 200
