Description
This capstone course is the culminating experience for students in the EdS in School Psychology program.
Students will complete and submit their professional portfolio as part of the evaluation for the National
Certification of School Psychologists (NCSP) credential offered by the National Association of School
Psychologists (NASP).
In this course, students will organize and compile artifacts from their graduate academic and field experiences
that demonstrate their knowledge of the NASP Practice Model and professional standards. This will involve
selecting appropriate work samples, evaluations, and documentation that highlight competencies across NASP's
10 domains of school psychology practice.
Students will compose narrative reflections analyzing how their portfolio evidences attainment of skills,
knowledge, and dispositions outlined within the NASP standards at the independent practice level. Portfolios
will be formatted according to NASP submission requirements and procedures. Students will gain an
understanding of continuous growth towards competency and the importance of becoming lifelong reflective
practitioners.
